Vegas Baby! – What I Wore
I’m back to tell you all bout my weekend in Vegas. I’m definitely a little blue to come back to reality but that’s what makes our travels special. I’m still super tired since my boyfriend and I tried to take advantage of every second of it since we were only going for approximately 60 hours. If you have traveled to Vegas from McAllen, you know that Allegiant is very cheap but has the most terrible schedules.
Our plane was scheduled to depart at 1:04pm but as you know, Allegiant has a tendency to have delayed flights so we ended leaving 2 hours later. Thanks for making me miss hours of work for nothing, Allegiant! Either way, we arrived to Vegas at 5:00pm so we still had time to make most of the day.
For the flight, you know I like to travel comfortable so I wore jeggins, a simple t-shirt, ankle booties and my beloved denim jacket. As soon as we arrived and got to the hotel, I changed into a monochrome look: white ruffle top and jeans. I loved this statement top because the ruffles and plunging neckline make it look so chic, although I didn’t like the peplum look so much because I feel it makes me look wider than I really am.
We played roulette for a few hours in Planet Hollywood (where we stayed), and a few other casinos before we went to have dinner at Le Village in Paris. It’s definitely my favorite buffet in Vegas; I’m always craving their delicious crepes (pro tip: there’s a Groupon!!). After dinner, we decided to keep playing in the casinos. Don’t worry though, I’m a responsible gambler and ended up the night winning $40 bucks.
On Saturday, we woke up at about 11:00am. I wore a Forever 21 floral linen mini dress featuring a floral motif, ruffled shoulder straps, square neckline, princess seams and a shirred flounce hem with Forever 21 light pink faux suede block heel sandals as well and a Zac Zac Posen Rose Eartha Iconic Backpack. The weather was super hot so the dress was perfect and I always choose backpacks when I travel because I can keep all necessities and a bottle of water with me at all times.
We had brunch at a place called Hexx Kitchen / Alexxa’s Bar outside the Paris and you can sit outside to have your food while watching the Bellagio fountain and people watching. I got the Hexx Benedict and my boyfriend got the lobster roll. Both were delicious and we also go a Groupon for that one!
We spent most of trip casino hopping and playing a few minutes on each one. We’ve been there a thousand times so it’s not like we wanted to do all the touristy things again, but now and then we liked to stop for a moment and appreciate the theme and everything each casino had to offer. We went to see the flamingos and their habitat at the Flamingo, which it’s actually the oldest casino in Vegas. We also rode the High Roller at the Linq, it was exciting and thrilling. The views were amazing, makes you look Vegas in a new light… how the strip is so different from the city and never knew mountains surrounded it! Breathtaking.
For dinner, we had a quick and cheap pizza so we could go rest a little so we had the energy to go to the club. I wore a Marissa Webb Maisie mini dress with a plunging neckline and tired ruffles that gave a 80s vibe. The green and purple floral motif made this dress so unique in a sea of black dresses. I paired it with the Forever 21 platform sandals that I always wear to go out because they’re the only high heels I can take, they’re surprisingly comfortable being that they’re from Forever 21 and cost me $30 a few years ago; and a Lauren by Ralph Lauren purse my sister gave me as a present last time I visited her in Mexico City.
We went to Intrigue Nightclub at the Wynn where Robin Schulz was supposed to play. We waited until 3am and he didn’t show up! It was super disappointing because I specifically chose to go to that club because of him. Anyways, it was still fun and it’s not like we paid to get in or anything (pro tip: find promoters on Instagram to get in for free into clubs. Trust me, even when a famous DJ is playing, if you are even numbers of guys and girls – or more girls – the promoter will put you on the guest list and you won’t have to pay).
After the club, we played at the Wynn then moved to Planet Hollywood so that if we got tired we could just got up to the room and sleep. But that didn’t happen until after 7am and had a “late night snack” at Earl of Sandwich.
On Sunday, of course we woke up very late and starving! At this point, I don’t even know why I didn’t get a hangover, maybe the anti-hangover pills I’ve been taking. They’re miraculous but didn’t expect for them to work this great after drinking for days nonstop.
I wore a Forever 21 light blue ribbed knit mini dress featuring a button front, straight neckline, short ruffled sleeves and a fit and flare silhouette with gold flat mules from H&M.
We had lunch at Chayo Mexican Kitchen at the LINQ Promenade because we had a Groupon as well. It wasn’t great so I don’t recommend it. Happy hours seemed to be good though.
After that we went casino hopping, playing at any roulette we could find and drink free beers the casinos give you while you play. At the end of the day, I wanted to close the trip with my beloved Shake Shack at the New York New York. I miss my days in NYC so much and missed eating Shake Shack.
We slept relatively early since our plane was leaving at 7:30am so meant we had to wake up at 4:45am. We arrived to the Valley and had to go to work right away. I was tired as hell but the trip was totally worth it.
What’s your favorite hotel/casino in Vegas? What’s your favorite club? Do you have any tips for my next trip?
I want to know, share in the comments!
